About Me

I started my teaching career as a qualified Junior-Primary Teacher in 1982, teaching a Sub.B class. In 1983 I obtained my Friedrich Froebel Pre-Primary Certificate where I spent 32 years. I wholeheartedly agree with Friedrich Froebel, the founder of kindergartens, that children are powerful learners, motivated from birth to explore, investigate and curious about the world and to try through their own efforts to understand it.

Learning should be meaningful, connected and on-going to what they already know.

PLAY, TALK and FIRST-HAND EXPERIENCES are central to young children’s learning.

This is the phase when children should be allowed to play OUTSIDE in the sand , mud, water “baking cakes”, climbing, swinging, skipping, playing house-house, hide-and-seek, ring-a-ring-a- roses, hopscotch, ball games etc and INSIDE cutting and tearing paper, drawing, painting, block-play, TABLE GAMES, PUZZLES, IMAGINARY GAMES, music, songs, art, rhymes, circle time, theme discussions.

God has given me this gift. I have so much to share. I have traveled throughout Namibia and I realised that we need well informed kindergarten educators. One is never too old to learn. I am available to share my expertise regarding training and the setup of a Kindergarten.
